This array of 256 force-sensing cells, 16 rows and 16 columns, has an active area of 4x4 inches. (See drawing for complete dimensions.) It can be used as a multitouch user input device or for any number of other pressure- or force-mapping applications. ShuntMode construction provides a wide dynamic range, from approximately 0.1 psi to over 500 psi. The resistance and conductance graphs show typical characteristics for each sensor in the matrix. The value measured will also depend on sensor coverage. NOTE: The ShuntMode MatrixArray ships with header pins, which must be soldered to the PCB by the user. The pads on the PCB have a 0.100" pitch, allowing for use of a wide range of user-supplied headers and connectors.
