The school was inaugurated on 20 Aug 1963 to support mainly the children of employees those who were working for Srisailam Hydro Electric Project. The school was successfully run until 04 May 1982 by Irrigation Department. Since then it was taken up and run by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. Vocational Education along with the General Education is also taken-up by this school and is running successfully till today.

Many students who are educated in this school are well settled and are in dignitary positions in both Govt. and Private sectors.

The school is renovated by the Old Students' Association with the help of Government and the contributions from the old students themselves in view of providing state-of-the-art facilities in providing quality education.

Introduced by the Head Master Sri A. Satyanarayana and the school is continuing still with the same uniform. He is presently residing in Vijayawada.
